An actual win at Twickenham and no

post three days later?

Dear god is a goal drought at Spurs and some moron being stripped then another moron being handed the England football captaincy worth more than an actual victory at Twickenham by the England rugby team over the Taffs?

Well it wasn’t the greatest performance an England team has ever put on at HQ, but it was far better than what has gone on so far this season, what with the autumn internationals being a complete bust. And they still put 30 points on the Welsh, who had high hopes. And actual tries were scored, what are the chances of that happening?

Of course much made of the fact that England scored 17 of those points, winning points according to most pundits, during the ten minutes that Welsh lock and captain Alun Wyn Jones was sat in the sin bin, for his stupid, and cynical, trip of Dylan Hartley.

Well it was about the only decent decision ref Alain Rolland made all afternoon. As soon as I saw his name down as the match official, I had a fair idea how things would go. Every scrum just waiting for him to blow the whistle to penalise England, here comes another free kick or penalty for nowt, or for sommat the Welsh did.

So not exactly facing 14 men were England. Just need to look at Adam Jones’ try. England ridiculously penalised for Care tackling a player when the ball is out of the ruck and he’s come from a legal opening. Only person there or watching who figured it was a penalty, I wonder who?

What was more amazing though? Was it that much maligned, especially here, England captain, Steve Borthwick had a pretty good game – along with the Welsh starting hooker he destroyed their lineout and a great bit of work ripping the ball back for Care’s try – or that there was no blood from the bridge of his nose throughout the game?
