Sad news that former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr has died aged only 56 after suffering from multiple sclerosis for just over a decade.

Joining Maiden, from Samson, in 1979 he played on the first three classic albums, first two – Iron Maiden and Killers – with lead singer Di’Anno and the real breakthrough release for the band “The Number Of The Beast” with Bruce Dickinson before leaving in 1982, to be replaced by current drum stool incumbent Nicko McBrain – who according to legend plays the devil in the official video for the title track of that final album.
