Pretty much the leader of the band up until the second incarnation really broke through along and drummer Ian Paice they were the only constant band members during the band’s existence from from formation in 1968 to their breakup in 1976 and from when they reformed in 1984 until Lord’s retirement in 2002. So the pair were the only two to play in each incarnation of the band.

Writing and playing on some of the great rock and or roll tracks of the classic rock era of the seventies…
