There was only one winner of the SPotY

and thankfully the British public got it right.

Posted a few times that Mark Cavendish was the only possible choice as the BBC’s Sports personalty Of The Year award.

And last night he was duly awarded the title with knocking on 50% of the public vote. It’s a great way to cap a glorious year for the Manx sprinter and a great way to kick off next year, with not only the Tour but the Olympics.

The other awards were well chosen, England cricket side definitely team of the year but you have to ask how the hell Andy Murray came 5th in the voting. His mother’s phone bill will be massive.
