Spurs and England legend.

Sad news that goal scoring legend Bobby Smith died age 77 on Saturday, after a short illness.

Part of the great Double winning Spurs side of 1960/61, he helped retain the Cup the following year and was also part of the first British team to win a European trophy when Spurs won the Cup Winners Cup in ’63, he is their second top scorer after Jimmy Greaves with 208 goals in 317 senior games.

Semi-Final second leg: Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Benfica

Not only did he score for Spurs but there was 13 international goals for England in only 15 games, two of which came in the 9-3 stuffing of the Jocks at Wembley in 1961.
