...win. A Tweet went out last night shortly after Spurs had lost 4-1 in the second leg of their last 16 Europa League tie away at Inter Milan, to draw 4-4 on aggregate and go through on away goals.
...a bit. Taking enough chances when they came and hanging on to a lead to see it out for the victory. Doesn't make for pleasant viewing until after the final whistle.
...was the killer. From the moment Spurs took the lead, against Man City, it felt like it would be a 70 minute hanging on job and this being Spurs, not a successful one.
…halves. Optimism in the face of playing the league leaders lasted as long as we though Dembele and Bale’s names would be on the team sheet. ...it's a disaster. How could he lose his first competitive game in charge away to a team that were fighting for a top 4 position last season and kept all their major players from that campaign.
...back. It was in Spurs hands to claim third place in the Premier League, after the Woolwich scum lost points at home, but again they blew it as 'Arry dithered.
...now. Overseeing a tactical masterclass of ineptness, watching his team in white and blue fall to pieces while the officials make one of the most god awful calls in the game. What better qualifications can a man have to get the England job?
...Jose Mourinho. The way a lot of fans were happy about the style with which Spurs went about the nil-nil draw against Chelsea, came as some surprise given their dislike of Jose's pragmatic football style.
...the team picks up three points playing poorly? Well Spurs certainly got the playing poorly right against West Brom as they struggled to get the win.
...to Stoke that sorts the men from the boys? It certainly did a job on Spurs during the first half while referee Chris Foy did it in the second.
...the transfer kitty this summer. After a run down of his buys since being made manager at Spurs it doesn't make for great reading and neither does the list of players he is linked with and talks about in glowing terms.
...began. The seaons started with Spurs battering Man Citeh it effectively ended with with Spurs battering Man Citeh but this time a Crouch own goal gave them the last laugh.
...but a ding dong battle of a derby. But in the end no matter how exciting and what a good game of football a three all draw did Spurs no favours in the chase for Champions League football.
...until the ref blows that final whistle. 'Arry said Spurs only know how to attack, well they also know how to hang on for the goalless draw after doing so against AC Milan to get into the Champions League quarter final.
...now? After the humiliation of the Cup capitulation to Fulham, Spurs have turned it around with three gritty league wins and now the best of the lot a battling Champions League victory away to AC Milan.
