...bestest in the whole world. An unremittingly awful game of football from some, clogging thuggery from others, fitting last on Match of the Day, highlighting everything wrong about both Spurs and Stoke.
...a cup game. It wasn't long ago, it was just two cup defeats ago in fact. Back in the halcyon days when Spurs were in all four competitions they entered. Down to one now and you don't give 'em any hope in that.
...from the league. That would have been the cherry on top of the cake. But Spurs beating Stoke on their “special” day, with Charlie Adam being sent off will have to do.
...City. Don't know what's worse what Stoke call football or the joy they take in killing the game. Points for points sake, no enjoyment, glory in destruction, you wonder what Danny Blanchflower would have made of it all.
...or should that be Keggy Keegling it? It pretty much doesn't matter which, both the same, both have seen what could at one stage have been a 16 point lead is now a one point deficit after another insipid display.
...to Stoke that sorts the men from the boys? It certainly did a job on Spurs during the first half while referee Chris Foy did it in the second.
...ain't that the usual response? Stoke and Spurs play out one of the most abject games you'll hear in their League Cup 3rd round tie.

...except of course for the win. Only Spurs can batter a team 3-2 and be hanging on in desperation for the final whistle.
...can't stand to see him play for Spurs either. Just hope she's blocked his phone number or he'll be on to her to make 'Arry Redknapp play him just like Wilson Palacios' mother did before the draw with Everton.
...when we get refs acting like that. A referee not giving a goal against Spurs, when he's just feet away with a clear view, it's like we've finally got the keys to the executive washroom.
...and a battling 3 points. Away to Stoke, them pulling back us losing another striker to injury and yet Spurs come away with all 3 points and 4th spot retained, it's building too much hope.
...days. When the goalkeeper comes in with 20 minutes notice pulls off save after save in a man of the match performance to deny Spurs who are then caught with a sucker punch winner.
...of 'Arry. After Spurs looked a different team dispatching Stoke 3-1 in the League all seems sunshine and smiles at the Lane.
