...World Cup. It epitomised pretty much what had happened in most of the previous 63 games throughout this last 31 days of the 19th FIFA World Cup. As the Dutch played a scummy game and got what they deserved.
...or should that be England 2. That's what it would have been on paper after the German's stuffed Maradonna's lot in the quarter-final on Saturday, of course on actual grass it probably would have somewhat different.
...aren't you Germany. Not only did the German's thrash us at our own game in the World Cup but now they're doing a damn fine job of analysing the problems with the England team as Thomas Mueller says there's too many alpha males.
...this old excuse. It's not cutting it as an excuse Fabio, after all teh German's played more games than our superstars and their best player was in action last summer while our lot had a nice break.
...Germany. Keggy reacted with humility after that defeat, Fabio reacted like England's biggest defeat in a World Cup finals came as a great shock to him, well it didn't come as a great shock here.
..aren't we. I mean after stuffing the might of Slovenia a whole one nothing, who is there now good enough to stop England from going all the way and lifting the trophy?
...it's a knockout. There's a couple of quotes that come to mind about not learning the lessons from history and repeating mistakes over and over again as Gerrard and Lampard are set to play together for the 61st time for England.
...but what have they got be be fearful about? Fear of failure? Why on earth would this group of England players have a fear of failure? They've failed repeatedly for England and faced no consequences.
...is that people were shocked by it. Why did anyone expect anything different from this England side? Yes this was even worse than before but that's the path England are taking.
...coursing through your veins? Or is it the remnants of some horrible Danish lager. The opening game of this World Cup had a number of parallels with Italia '90 and it looks to carry on with more inept performances.
...if they are going to be as dull and functional as everyone else? The media promised us much because the great five time winners were finally getting a game so the tournament would now take off. But this is the team of Dunga.
...or have they been bugging me? A newspaper review of the World Cup TV coverage so far pretty much echoed everything I'd been saying, especially about the odious performance of the main ITV trio of commentators.
...last night. Was ITV telling us how good England were. Unsurprisingly England were crap in the first game of a tournament, unsurprisingly Lampard and Gerrard didn't work and unsurprisingly ITV talked them up live and and exclusive.
...to England. The fact he's been captain for a couple of months and two who games means we won't miss his leadership and the form he's shown over this injury prone season and the last few years for England, means he shouldn't be missed as much as some would have us believe.
...the F.A. way. As we are drip fed the names of the seven players that journos have found out Fabio has phoned to tell them they won't be going to the World Cup, there's no great surprise bar one, thankfully, named Theo Walcott.
