...final. There's a lot of people really happy with the way Spurs played as they lost the League Cup final but in all honesty it looks like the worst type of straw clutching.
...time. Spurs looked to be really Spursing up their chance of a League Cup final when Christen Eriksen did what Christen Eriksen does and put pay to Sheffield United's Wembley dreams.
...Wembley. That's about all you can say about Spurs' one nil victory over Sheffield United in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final.
...makes. AVB was sacked leaving Dim Sherwood in charge, his first game in charge saw a demoralising League Cup quarter final loss, a year later Pochettino saw a 4-0 thumping of Newcastle at the same stage.
...visit White Hart Lane. Two teams rocked up to play Spurs this week both needing a lift in fortunes Newcastle left with a reinvigorated season Brighton left being out of the League Cup.
...drawbacks. It's been 24 years since I've seen Aberdeen win a trophy, other lucky buggers only had to wait 19 years. It wasn't the greatest game of football I've ever seen.
...a cup game. It wasn't long ago, it was just two cup defeats ago in fact. Back in the halcyon days when Spurs were in all four competitions they entered. Down to one now and you don't give 'em any hope in that.
...back. Well I wasn't really gonna post much about that game, what was their really to say that the 0-5 scoreline didn't already then Daniel lLvy pulled the Alan Sugar card and AVB is gone.
...league. Spurs couldn't make up their mind if they wanted a league cup run or trot out the old ”concentrate on the league“ line as the eventually got past Hull City.
..not bad after all. Away trip in the League Cup in between league and European games could have seen Spurs slack off but 4-0 victory over Aston Villa was the response.

...dead. How many ex-professional players who are now media pundits confidently stated the League Cup final would be between Chelsea and Villa? How many are ever right and why do we really need them?
...Show. Cruising to the quarter final of the League Cup with seven minutes remaining Spurs manage to lose to Norwich while missing a penalty.
...League Cup game. I reluctantly tuned into BBC 5Live last night for the away trip to Carlisle in the League Cup, no sponsors here without some readies stumped up, it was the only option.
