...in which they lost. Spurs' home defeat to Fulham was limp, lifeless, lacklustre. And probably even worse - predictable.
...Milan. Someone needed to get a cab round to Inter's hotel last night, because they didn't turn up. There was just some useless mob trying to be Arsenal in red that were thumped 3-0 in the Europa League at The Lane.
...strikers. Jermain Defoe hobbles off and Spurs don't have a single recognised striker. Oh, woe, woe and thrice woe. Except Defoe wasn't scoring and Dempsey can be a striker and has been scoring and so can Bale.
...season. A struggle at Norwich, during which Gareth Bale charged through the hosts, scored and he stopped being a left winger. He did it to save a point here.
...an early kick-off. As if Andre Villas-Boas being named manager of the month for December wasn't bad enough the first game after the award announcement was a 12:45 Saturday kick-off against 'Arry's QPR.
...to this. And we were right. Spurs fans didn't like it when he was doing it, diving that is, or going down theatrically, it's earned him a reputation that referees are too witless to see past.
...disgrace. In the first half of Spurs' away game at Aston Villa they were too busy amassing corners and throw ins in the second they recklessly abandoned the goal for the record number of corners for actual goals.
...City. Don't know what's worse what Stoke call football or the joy they take in killing the game. Points for points sake, no enjoyment, glory in destruction, you wonder what Danny Blanchflower would have made of it all.
...injury time. Easy answer for Spurs to hold out during the last 10 to 15 minutes of games with a lead looks like being to play teams with little attacking intention - like Swansea. Fine by me.
...with a win. AVB needs to do something about Spurs' 80 minute men. He also needs to get one of his 'keepers and one of his central defenders to spend some time together so they can understand each other in the future.
...well. This Europa League group stage has been a bit touch and go over the six games for Spurs, right through to 15 minutes from the end of the final game at home to Panathinaikos last night.
...at this rate. Three wins in a week, 9 points from 9, eight goals for just two against. Surely 'Arry would have done better than this. It can't carry on, we shouldn't allow it to carry on.
...place? Yes it was only the vile scum of West Ham but with the likes of Lloris, Dawson and Dempsey playing and playing well it was probably the best home game of the season so far.
...against AVB. They deplete him of a string of first teamers for the North London Derby and then conspire to rid him of Adebayor a quarter of an hour into the game. He still did better than 'Arry despite the same scoreline.
...was the killer. From the moment Spurs took the lead, against Man City, it felt like it would be a 70 minute hanging on job and this being Spurs, not a successful one.
