..CV. Tim Sherwood thinks Spurs winning a trophy would look good on his CV, after they lost their third straight cup game under him, 1-0 to Dnipro in the Europa League, he can probably keep that piece of paper blank.
...'keepers. Much will be made about how Tim Krul saved Newcastle from a thumping while Brad Friedel cost Spurs a clean sheet. They were major parts but it was much more than that.
...kick. As Spurs beat Sheriff to confirm qualification from the Europa League group phase one man deserve all the headlines and plaudits but it's another who did nothing bar one kick that got 'em.
...league. Spurs couldn't make up their mind if they wanted a league cup run or trot out the old ”concentrate on the league“ line as the eventually got past Hull City.
...like. This Europa League campaign has been a bit hit and miss. Some glorious stuff, some lacklustre. Most of it edge of the seat, last second, so you just knew the only way it would go would be penalties.
...a better time. While most managers in the league were whinging and crying about their players going away to play in World Cup qualifiers, Andres Villas-Boas probably couldn't be more grateful as Spurs get back to winning ways.
...win. A Tweet went out last night shortly after Spurs had lost 4-1 in the second leg of their last 16 Europa League tie away at Inter Milan, to draw 4-4 on aggregate and go through on away goals.
...Milan. Someone needed to get a cab round to Inter's hotel last night, because they didn't turn up. There was just some useless mob trying to be Arsenal in red that were thumped 3-0 in the Europa League at The Lane.
...minute. Spurs waited pretty much as long as they could throughout the two legs of their Europa League tie against Lyon to go through to face Inter Milan.
...will someone please tell Spurs. Away to Southampton, Spurs were at it again. A one half performance leading to hanging on at the end and being grateful to come away with the victory and three points.
...they were bitching about him not doing. With Spurs on a winning run, one of their best starts to a Premier League season, the Old Trafford hoodoo done and dusted and the players themselves talking about how happy they are the media are scrambling for something to have a go at Andre Villas-Boas with.
...negatives. Spurs may have played poorly, AVB may have made the wrong decisions but things were corrected and three points were won.
...is required. Spurs drew 1-1 with Norwich in their worst game of the fledgling season so far but it's the beginning of something new that'll take time.
...and the goal difference an improvement. Second league game into AVB's reign and a second game that should have been won but didn't, some criticism of the manager's substitutions but things are close to clicking.
...Münchner. As Spurs sweat on the top line, hoping Bayern do Chelski in the Champions League final, it wouldn't surprise to find out that means
I'm a doughnut.
