...deserved. Spurs played Leicester for the third time in a week and a half in their third round F.A. Cup replay and they finally got the win their play deserved over the previous games.
...the man of the match? Spurs were going through their usual routine against a non-footballing flat back nine, that is struggling, until Big Sam played the master tactician.
...now. Spurs third game against Leicester this season broke the string of draws, well two draws, as the visitors came out victorious and Spurs have to look to restart again.

...if there was any daylight. In the murky Scouse New Year a Spurs side that is looking increasingly tired left Goodison with a point that almost felt like a defeat, certainly yet more points dropped.

...Coco. As the final Europa League group game came into town, Pochettino finally gave some of the regulars a day off, while the kids ran rings around Monaco to secure top spot.
...British telly drama. Finally got round to watching the BBC, trying to be Nordic Noir, six part cop drama series River, it was spoilt by the usual fault of the usual suspects.
...a relegation battle shutting up shop. The weekend fixture against Premier League strugglers Chelsea should that Spurs will have to deal with more little teams coming to The Lane trying to grab a point.
...not much less. Spurs made their merry way east to Azerbaijan for the Europa League tie with Qarabag and came back with the much needed three points, no injuries and not too much exertion expended.
...in the bin. With Spurs' unbeaten run in the league and West Ham turning over big teams on their travels this had Spursy banana skin written all over it, but the little team were put in their place.
