Effectology volume 20…

…Caribbean steel drums.

Bill Ruppert is back with another in his excellent series of Effectology videos where he uses just a standard guitar and a few well chosen Electro-Harmonix effects pedals to make some weird non-guitar noises.

Twenty amazing videos in and he might have topped himself here. Who would ever think it would be possible to make your basic guitar sound like a steel drum even with effects pedals?

No one? Thought not.

Well Bill has with, as usual his trusty Ibanez and just two pedals, one a pitch shifter – either a HOG or a POG – the other the Stereo PolyChorus.

So sit back and imagine you’re on some white sanded beach, sun’s blazing, sea’s lapping at your feet, you’ve got a can of Red Stripe in one hand and that coconut just missed our head.

You can get the pedal settings at EHX
