Effectology volume 12

Electro-Harmonix Effectology, Vol.12 The Uilleann Pipes

the Uilleann pipes.

Bill Ruppert is back with his excellent series of Effectology videos where he uses just a standard guitar a few well chosen Electro-Harmonix effects pedals to make some weird non-guitar noises.

This time round it’s the haunting sound of the Uilleann pipes. Now if you don’t know what they are but heard they were bagpipes, then don’t let that put you off. No you aren’t going to be bombarded with that god awful screeching caterwaul associated with the word bagpipes.

Nope these ain’t the standard Jock version, so no “Scotland The Brave” à la Norman Stanley Fletcher – “Come where the hands are clapping, come where the toes are tapping, come where the jocks are strapping.”

So bill starts off with a harmonic drone from the following pedals: HOG, Electric Mistress, Memory Man. Then a giant field drum from: Big Muff, Cathedral Reverb.

Then the actual pipes from: Big Muff, Hog, Memory Man, Cathedral. With a string background from: Soul Preacher, POG2, volume pedal, Memory Man.

Settings for all of the pedals can be found HERE.
