Never mind the quality feel the

win.

England’s 23-21 victory over South Africa on Saturday did stop the losing sequence and prevent them going down as the sole posser of the tag “worst team in English rugby history” but that’s all it did.

Again the performance wasn’t up to much and it shouldn’t go anywhere near saving Andy Robinson from the axe after the next game. After all this was what the 3rd string Bok outfit, who could have, with a bit more composure, less greed and a specialised kicker, racked up a fair few more points, as a couple of tries went begging and kicks at goal were missed.

Only good thing to come out of the game was Hodgson’s injury, which thankfully means he’ll miss the rest of the season and therefore the 6 Nations. Looked a far more composed outfit with Goode at fly-half, well that and Phil Vickery coming back into the fold after missing so much through injury over the last couple of years.
